Key Features
Overview
Tsokos Ferries Eretria is a production website built for a ferry company operating the Oropos – Eretria route. The goal of the project was to create a modern, fast, and reliable web presence that clearly presents ferry schedules, company information, and contact details.
The website was designed to serve both Greek-speaking and English-speaking visitors through a complete multilingual experience and simple, accessible navigation across devices.
Technical Implementation
The project was built with Astro, with a strong focus on performance, fast page loading, and static site generation. Tailwind CSS was used for styling, allowing a clean and responsive design system with consistent visual structure throughout the website.
Decap CMS was integrated to provide an easy editing experience for the owner, making it possible to update key content such as text, schedules, and images without direct code changes or technical involvement.
The final deployment and hosting were handled through Netlify, providing a simple deployment workflow, reliable static hosting, and smooth integration with the CMS and Git-based content structure.
Content and Structure
The content architecture was designed around clarity and usability. The website presents ferry schedules, service information, visual content, and contact details in a straightforward and accessible format.
Special attention was also given to SEO through structured metadata, semantic HTML, and optimized asset delivery, helping the website remain lightweight and search-engine friendly.
Outcome
The final result is a professional, production-ready website that represents the ferry company effectively online, delivers a fast browsing experience for visitors, and remains easy to maintain through the integrated CMS workflow.
This project is a practical example of how a static website can combine high performance, clean design, simple content management, and reliable delivery for a real business use case.
